Half-esters of methyl vinyl ether (and) maleic anhydride. Vida-Care C HE42 by KCC Basildon (Momentive) acts as a film forming- and waterproofing agent. It forms very glossy, clear and tack-free films which delivers excellent substantivity and moisture resistance in skin care and hair styling applications. Thus, results in durable hold and lasting style retention. Moreover, it is easy to washout and comb from hair with no flaking. It is soluble in ethanol and isopropanol but insoluble in water unless neutralized. It finds application in formulating pump and aerosol hairsprays, mousse, styling spritzes, temporary tattoos, water resistant patches for pigments or skin care actives and sealant for lipsticks. But, it is not recommended for typical styling gels and creams. Vida-Care C HE42 complies with Cosmetics Regulation [EC] No1223/2009.
