Vida-Care C ACH

Di-acid form of the copolymer of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride. Vida-Care C ACH acts as an adhesive-, chelating- and repairing agent. It is relatively a high molecular weight polymer. It forms translucent aqueous solution whose rheology and adhesive properties can be modified by the selection of electrolytes and manipulation of pH. Typically, increasing pH results in higher viscosity, while use of divalent salts will produce higher viscosity solution and monovalent salts give lower viscosity. Moreover, it chelates iron, magnesium and calcium ions. Vida-Care C ACH grade dissolves in hot or cold water, ethanol and isopropanol. It can be combined with cationic polymers to create polyelectrolyte complexes which can be used in split-end repair formulations. In personal care applications, it is primarily used for the bioadhesive property. Vida-Care C ACH finds application in formulating pore cleaning strips and thermal protection complex. Complies with Cosmetics Regulation [EC] No1223/2009.
