Ethylhexylglycerin. Iscaguard® EHG distributed by Brenntag Specialties (EMEA) acts as a multifunctional preservative booster. It is also used as an emollient and skin conditioning agent. It has low activity against microbial growth, combination with active biocides has been proven to increase their efficacy, thereby allowing lower preservative concentrations for safer, gentler formulations. It is free of preservative, paraben, formaldehyde and thiazolinone. It is used particularly in deodorising and sensitive skin applications. Applications of Iscaguard® EHG include shampoo, shower gel (rinse-off), creams, lotions (leave-on), O/W emulsions, W/O emulsions, wet wipes, eye care, lip care, oral care formulations and baby care products.
