Oenothera Biennis Seed Oil. Acts as an emollient. It is extracted from the seeds of oenothera biennis by cold pressing and filtering. The oil content of the seeds is 25 %. The oil provides a rich source of essential fatty Acids (EFA), up to 90% of the fatty acids. It has a high content of the physiological important gamma-linolenic acid. It is readily absorbed by the skin, where it exerts its effect in two ways, by reduction of the trans epidermal water loss and by formation of autocoids. Used in skin care products.
