Diethylhexyl adipate. Acts as an emollient, hydroalcoholic coupler, pigment wetter & dispersant, resin plasticizer and sunscreen solvent. Synthetically produced diester of petrochemically-derived 2 ethylhexanol and adipic acid. Is non-occlusive and has excellent spreading properties. May find use as an hydro-alcoholic coupler for fragrances in colognes, toilet waters, as a cosolvent, as a feel and flow modifier for lipophilic components in sunscreens, nail polishes and nail polish removers, as a pigment wetter/dispersant in makeup as well as in lipsticks. Other areas of potential application include hair care, bath and deodorant products. Also suitable for bath additives, beach wear sun care, daily wear sun care, depilatories, facial color cosmetics, facial skin care, fragrances, hand & body care, lip care, nail care and shaving products.
