Gustav Heess Beeswax

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Gustav Heess
Cera alba. Beeswax by Gustav Heess acts as an emollient, film former, emulsifier and perfuming agent. It is obtained by melting of the empty honeycombs produced by honey-bees (apis mellifera L.) with hot water. It has a fine-grain, matt & non-crystalline fracture and forms a soft & malleable mass on heating. It contains cerotinic acid, melissinic acid, 70 esters of C16 to C36 acids, mixtures of C24 to C36 alcohols, saccharides, minerals, colorants, flavorants and vitamin A. It offers water absorption and provides antibiotic properties in ointments, creams, pastes and plasters. Beeswax finds application in formulating lipsticks, facial creams, lotions, mascaras, eye-creams, eye shadow, make-up, de-keratinizing products (body cream) and nail-white pencils.
