Dimethicone. MIRASIL™ DM 10 by Elkem Silicones offers a soft feel and protecting effect in skin care. In deodorants & antiperspirants, it provides detackification. This ingredient shows waterproof effect in sun products. It is a linear polydimethylsiloxane fluid with a low viscosity and low molecular weight. It provides smooth, light & dry feel, enhances spreadability & rub-out, improves slip, imparts lubricity and provides frizz control. MIRASIL™ DM 10 finds application in creams & lotions, make-up removers and shaving lotions & foams. The shelf life of this ingredient is 18 months from its date of manufacturing.
