BENTONE GEL® VS1 V

Trisiloxane (and) Disteardimonium Hectorite (and) Triethyl Citrate. BENTONE GEL® VS1 V by Elementis is a non-animal origin rheological additive for cosmetics and toiletries. It is a specially prepared dispersion of an organically modified hectorite in trisiloxane. It is a single, easy to use, non-abrasive ingredient which offers rheological control and suspension to the organic- and silicone-based cosmetics. It provides thermostable viscosity which raises apparent melting point and allows cost-efficient use of UV filters. It improves application properties and offers thixotropic flow. It enhances the skin-feel by imparting a non-greasy, non-tacky, smooth and pleasant residual silky feel. It is used as an alternative to traditional polymers, cyclopentasiloxane- and cellulose-based thickeners for stabilizing emulsions [w/o and o/w]. It offers predictable, reproducible & stable viscosity control, shear-thinning viscosity and excellent suspension of pigments and actives. It controls alignment of special-effect pigment. It is suitable for cold process systems. BENTONE GEL® VS1 V is used in lip & make-up products, creams/ointments, hair preparations and sunscreens. It is approved under the RSPO mass balance system. The shelf life of this grade is 2 years.
