BENTONE GEL® VS-5 V

Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Disteardimonium Hectorite (and) Alcohol. BENTONE GEL® VS-5 V by Elementis is a non-abrasive, non-animal origin rheological additive for cosmetics and toiletries. It is a specially prepared dispersion of an organically modified hectorite in volatile silicone (pentamer). This ingredient imparts rheological control and suspension to organic- and silicone-based cosmetics. It provides thermostable viscosity control of the emulsion's oil phase, improves application properties, enhances skin-feel by masking greasy or tacky components and imparts a pleasant residual silkiness to the skin. This ingredient offers predictable, reproducible & stable viscosity control, shear-thinning viscosity and excellent suspension of pigments & actives. Also, controls alignment of special-effect pigments and raises apparent melting point & ensures cost-efficient use of UV filters. It provides emulsion stabilization [w/o and o/w] and smooth feel to skin. It is an alternative to traditional polymer or cellulose-based thickeners for stabilizing emulsions. It gives a high degree of formulating flexibility. It can be used in cold process systems and contains toxicologically safe ingredients. BENTONE GEL® VS-5 V is used in antiperspirants, eye make-up, emulsions, creams & lotions and sun care products. It is approved under the RSPO mass balance system and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and EFfCI GMP certifications. The shelf life of this product is 2 years.
