Cellulose Acetate Butyrate. Eastman™ Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB-553-0.4) by Eastman acts as a film former. It is a cellulose ester based on up to 60% cellulose, one of the most abundant natural renewable resources. It has a high hydroxyl content, which contributes to its alcohol solubility. The hydroxyl group is reactive and may be crosslinked with urea formaldehydes, melamines & polyisocyantes. Films produced is colorless with good ultraviolet stability, maintaining their low color over long periods of time. Offers characteristics such as formulation convenience, ease of handling and maximum formulating flexibility. Used in nail care products.
