Methocel™ E 50 PRM LV

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose. Methocel™ E 50 PRM LV by Dow is a film former, lather enhancer, stabilizer, suspension aid, lubricant, emulsion stabilizer, gelling agent and dispersants. Delivers luxurious foam and stabilization to a variety of cleansing products. Suitable for low surfactant and mild systems. Delivers light, non-greasy films and it can be combined with xanthan gum or inorganic thickeners to achieve suspension capabilities. Offers a unique feature called interfacial thermal gelation that reflects the combined effects of their surface activity and thermally gelling properties. Aids dispersion by forming protective films around particles to prevent coalescence and agglomeration. Suitable for creams, lotions, suncare products, styling gels, and facial masks. Methocel™ E 50 PRM LV is used in body washes, facial cleansers, shampoos, liquid hand soaps, shaving creams & foams, hair styling mousses and sulfate-free cleansing products. In solid products like make-up, it functions primarily as binders, but also adds humectancy and film-forming properties to improve product shelf life and texture.
