DOWSIL™ 9040 Silicone Elastomer Blend

Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone Crosspolymer. DOWSIL™ 9040 Silicone Elastomer Blend by Dow acts as a thickening agent for water-in-oil and water-in-silicone formulations. It is a crosslinked silicone elastomer gel, containing high molecular weight silicone elastomer in cyclopentasiloxane. It offers sensory & texture enhancement, slight sebum absorption, dry smoothness, quick absorption and light, silky & non-greasy skin feel. It enhances the aesthetics of volatile silicones and reduces tackiness of formulations. It provides dry- & wet combing, color protection, manageability/control & reduced syneresis. It is compatible with a variety of lipophilic active ingredients such as fragrances, sunscreens, vitamins and vitamin derivatives. It is used in deodorant and antiperspirant. DOWSIL™ 9040 Silicone Elastomer Blend finds application in formulating skin- and hair care products. Meets NZIoC, REACH, TSCA, PICCS, KECI, ENCS/ISHL, IECSC, AICS, DSL and TCSI. The shelf life of the product is 24 months at or below 60°C.
