Phenoxyethanol by Connect Chemicals is a palm oil-free antimicrobial and preservative. It is an aromatic ether of ethylene glycol, stable in the absence of hydrochloric acid and strong oxidants. It is easy to use and effective at a pH range of 4 to 5. Exhibits wide spectrum of action against gram positive & gram negative bacteria, yeasts and mold. It binds to the wall of bacteria and blocks their vital functions, preventing their reproduction and causing their death. Phenoxyethanol also acts as a fixative in perfumes. It finds application in toiletries, makeup, skin-, hair and sun care products. It can be used in combination with ethylhexylglycerin. It is >60% biodegradable, Halal and Kosher certified. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
