1,3-Butylene glycol (Connect Chemicals)

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Connect Chemicals
1,3-Butylene glycol by Connect Chemicals is a palm oil-free, preservative booster, humectant and solvent. It is used as a dispersant of essential oils & pigments and as a clarifier in formulas containing surfactants. It offers wetting & solubilizing properties along with a mild moisturizing action. It offers high purity and is derived from natural resources. It increases plasticity and reduces the possibility of breakage in anhydrous systems (deodorant sticks, lipsticks). It has the ability to retain fragrances on the skin, preventing the loss of perfume in products. It also has antibacterial activity and is used to stabilizes volatile compounds. It promotes the penetration of active ingredients by helping to absorb the product more quickly and deeper into the dermis. It provides a healthy and compact appearance to the skin by dissolving the intercorneocyte cement, the glue that holds the dead surface cells together. Suitable for aqueous systems or emulsions to retain water to avoid the drying of the product. 1,3-Butylene glycol is recommended for formulating fragrances, toiletries, makeup, antiperspirant, skin-, hair-, sun and nail care. It is non-irritating, 100% Vegan, Ecocert & COSMOS approved, Halal certified and NATRUE allowed. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
