Glycerin (and) Aqua (and) Laminaria Japonica Extract. Epseama™ by Clariant is a skin rejuvenator. It is made from an algal extract of brown seaweed that is rich in vitamins and minerals. It targets long non-coding RNA nc886 to reinvigorate its self-defense abilities and preserve skin youth. It fights the three main causes of aging that is photo-aging, chrono-aging and inflammaging. It increases the production of collagen IV, VII and XVII that are key components of the dermis-epidermis junction. As a result, Epseama™ helps the skin recover its resistance and elasticity. It heightens keratinocytes proliferation by improving the synthesis of CD44 hyaluronic acid receptors. It also enhances epidermis thickness, and inhibits the inflammasome pathway. It manages to reduce difficult-to-remove nasolabial wrinkles by 19% in volume and 10% in roughness in only one month. It also reduces pigmented spots, improves skin hydration and increases skin moisture levels by 14.2%. It is used in formulating skin care and cosmetic applications like anti-aging care preparations, intensive facial serums, resurfacing products and night creams.
