Ethylhexyl Salicylate. CHEM OS by Chemspec Chemicals acts as a UV-B filter. It absorbs UV-B rays in the range of 290-320 nm and offers protection. It also acts as an excellent solubilizer for crystalline UV filters such as butyl methoxy dibenzoyl methane or ethyl hexyl triazone. CHEM OS finds application in formulating sunscreens and make-up products. It has a shelf-life of 2 years.
