Triethoxycaprylylsilane. BRB 2894 by BRB International BV is alkyl functional silane. It improves water repellency and compatibility with organic waxes and oils of pigments & powders. It is a very reactive surface-treating agent. This ingredient forms a very stable coating on pigments. It imparts a highly hydrophobic surface and improves their dispersibility in organic media such as esters or silicone fluids. BRB 2894 finds application in formulating anhydrous or water-in-oil formulations like sunscreens.
