Akoline PGPR™

Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate. Akoline PGPR™ by AAK is an effective W/O emulsifier. Acts as stabilizer and dispersant for pigments and sunscreens and mild emulsifier and moisturizer for skin care. It is derived from vegetable oils. The good emulsifying and stabilizing properties of Akoline PGPR are a combination of the large hydrophilic polyglyceryl group which is combined with a large hydrophobic polyricinoleic acid chain. Can be used in anhydrous systems where it contributes with an intermediate polarity dispersing agent with high viscosity. These characteristics make it suited for stabilizing pigment dispersions and physical sunscreens. It is used in baby-care, natural cosmetics and in dermatological preparations due to its mildness and its contribution to the moisturizing properties of the skin care creams. Akoline PGPR™ is suited for use in product categories such as sunscreens, lip balms, foundations and lipsticks.
