It offers a lubricious skin feel, aesthetics and water repellency. The stearyl silane imparts the excellent wetting properties of the shorter chain silanes with a more emollient skin feel in powders and dispersed systems. It provides enhanced compressibility in pressed powders. It improves skin adhesion and a cushiony feel. It is used in sunscreens, loose powders, powder cream products, water-in-oil foundations and water-in-silicone foundations. Gelest Manganese Violet SS has a shelf life of 5 years.
