Hydrated Silica. SPHERILEX® 10 PC by Evonik is a specialty silica designed as an eco-friendly alternative to microplastics. The homogeneous particle-size distribution and controlled porosity of the ingredient deliver a unique combination of properties such as silky-smooth, non-drying skin feel in cosmetics applications. Its light diffusing properties are designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As an additional benefit, it has a mattifying effect. It helps to reduce and eliminate tackiness in formulations such as sunscreen. SPHERILEX® 10 PC is used in a wide range of applications such as powder and lipstick formulations to give a silky matte look. Also, used in such skincare, leave on, sunscreen, decorative cosmetics as well as AP/DEO products. It conforms to COSMOS and NATRUE standards. The shelf life of this ingredient is 24 months.
