Dimethicone. ABIL® 350 by Evonik is a perfume and substance fixative. It shows good emollient properties. It is a moisture barrier for skin care or skin protection formulations. It offers improved application properties, excellent water repellency & non-stickiness. The beneficial influence of this ingredient on spreadability of cosmetic emulsions is due to its highly hydrophobic character & low interfacial tension. It can protect the skin against aqueous media. It provides defoaming effect that results in the reduction of whitening effect from O/W emulsions. ABIL® 350 is used in O/W skin care creams & lotions, W/O skin care emulsions, protective hand creams & lotions, sun protection products, shampoos, toilet soaps, antiperspirants, aerosol shave lathers and make-up preparations. It is listed on TSCA & DSL.
