Laponite® XL21

Sodium Magnesium Fluorosilicate. Acts as a thickener. It is a synthetic layered silicate manufactured from naturally occurring inorganic mineral salts. It is insoluble in water but hydrates and swells to give colorless, translucent colloidal dispersions. Gives a light texture, enhances feel with highly shear thinning, thixotropic rheological properties, improved performance and stability. It is hygroscopic in nature. Used in moisturizing creams and lotions, sun care, hair care, baby care, skin wash/ shower gels , depilatory creams. It is also suitable for use in formulations at pH 4 or lower, such as alpha-hydroxy acid based "peeling" creams and lotions.
