Worlée Cosmetics has introduced WorléeScrub Olive, a natural scrub made from olive stones, which are ground into olive stone powder after drying. To ensure gentle sterilization, the olive stones are processed by steam.
Sustainable Alternative to Plastic Granulates
As the product is of purely vegetable origin, it is ideally suited as a sustainable alternative to plastic granulates in the processing of vegan or
anti-allergic cosmetics. The WorléeScrub product range will be extended in the future with other granulates (e.g. almond kernels) to offer a variety of sustainable alternatives to plastic.
WorléeScrub Olive is another great example of upcycling in the cosmetic industry, using olive stones which would otherwise be a food waste product. The product is vegan, COSMOS certified and contains Natural Origin Index of 1 (ISO 16128).
The olive stone powder is available in fine (300 μm) and coarse (500 μm) form and can be used accordingly to produce face and body cosmetics to obtain an abrasive effect. Thus, the scrub is particularly suitable for peelings and shower gels.
