Nuwen has launched SymBIOse, a new white cosmetics range, comprising of cleansing foam, micellar water, moisturizing cream, night balm and vitamin serum. SymBIOse combines natural marine and land-based active ingredients to create a skin care range that is both effective and respectful of the environment.
The new white cosmetics range comprise of two key ingredients are seawater concentrate and brown algae extract. The entire SymBIOse range is made in France and certified to the organic Cosmos-standard.
SymBIOse –Blending of Organic Ingredients

Soft cleansing foam and micellar water comprises of seawater concentrate, brown seaweed extract and organic cucumber water.

Moisturizing cream comprises of seawater concentrate, brown seaweed extract, organic grape seed oil, organic aloe vera juice and hyaluronic acid.

Night balm comprises of seawater concentrate, brown seaweed extract, organic grapeseed oil and organic Roman chamomile flower water.

Vitamin serum comprises of seawater concentrate, brown seaweed extract and organic orange water.
Capabilities of Key Active Ingredients
The natural seawater concentrate from the salt marshes of the South of France is rich in minerals, such as magnesium and potassium. The abundance of magnesium inhibits the translocation of the inflammatory factor, contributing to a reduction in cellular inflammatory response. An in vitro study demonstrates the soothing effect of these composites.
The brown seaweed Undaria pinnatifida harvested in Brittany has a lifecycle which involves different cell phases. One of the phases called Gametophyte is especially interesting since these cells are particularly abundant in antioxidants. Using a unique biotechnological process, the active principles of the gametophytes have been collected and integrated in the whole of the SymBIOse range to reinforce the skin’s antioxidant capabilities.
Plant Extracts Added to the Makeup Range
In synergy with its marine-based active ingredients, plant extracts are added to the various products that make up the range.
Organic Cucumber Water: It is rich in vitamins, oligo-elements and minerals. It also has powerful moisturizing properties and a beneficial effect on dull skin lacking in clarity and radiance. With its 96 percent water content, cucumber contributes to the hydration of the upper layers of the epidermis.
Organic Grape Seed Oil: The oil is recognized for its high antioxidant content and helps to prevent signs of skin ageing. Grape seed oil is high in Omega 6, vitamin E and antioxidant compounds.
Organic Aloe Vera Juice: The juice is obtained from the center of the fresh leaves comprising a thick pulp. Aloe vera has strong moisturizing powers and contains vitamins, minerals and oligo-elements.
Hyaluronic Acid: This natural active ingredient is obtained from renewable, plant-based resources. Dehydration and the loss of firmness in the skin are signs of aging, which lead to the formation of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid works on both the epidermis and the dermis to regulate and maintain hydration and increase the firmness of the skin by stimulating cell cohesion. The skin regains its tone and flexibility.
Organic Roman Camomile Flower Water: It is a plant that is grown extensively and notably for its flowers which appear during the last months of summer. It is recommended for its soothing and calming properties as well as its refreshing aspect.
Organic Orange Water: Orange is the fruit of choice for the skin’s well-being. The composition of this water, rich in vitamins and minerals makes it an excellent active ingredient that is toning, nourishing and remineralizing. Present in a higher quantity, Vitamin C is known for its antioxidant and cell rejuvenation properties.
