ICSC's Green Technology Prolongs Shelf Life of Organic Oils

ICSC_Green_TechnologyInternational Cosmetics Science Centre (ICSC) has developed a green technology called Internal Stabilization to prolong the shelf life of organic oils – without adding any chemical preservatives.

Overcomes Low Stability of Organic Oils


One of the challenges when using organic oils in cosmetic products is that they tend to have a very low stability towards oxidation. This is due to limitations when producing organic products as compared to conventional. So, even though the product is clean and free of harmful chemicals it does not have the same shelf life as the conventional counterpart.

Rosemary’s Natural Antioxidant Properties


The internal stabilization technology uses the natural antioxidants properties of Rosemary in a refining process that minimizes the loss of natural antioxidants present in the oil.

The process provides oil with high oxidative stability and therefore longer shelf life. The oil has strong microbial properties, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties and there is no need to add additional antioxidants in the formulation of the cosmetic product.
