Anti-inflammatory Agent:
Arete-G was found to interact with several receptors known to play a role in inflammation. By inhibiting signaling through these receptors, Arete-G acts as an anti-inflammatory. Taking it further, investigated its ability to combat inflammation in skin cells. Arete-G reduced IL-8 and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production in keratinocytes. These two compounds are known to play a role in skin inflammation.
- Anti-hyperpigmentation Agent:
Arete-G affects the expression of several genes involved in hyperpigmentation. Further functional testing is needed to confirm these preliminary results, but Arete-G may be useful in combating hyperpigmentation.

Anti-microbial Agent:
Cannabigerol has been shown to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus strains, including clinically relevant strains like methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). It’s been touted as being effective against other gram-positive microbes as well. Their laboratory also found it inhibited the growth of Malassezia furfur and Malassezia restricta, indicating it has potential as an anti-dandruff product and preventing seborrheic dermatitis.

Arete-G is produced at high purity, using an environmentally friendly process. Producing rare bioactives, like cannabigerol, using conventional agriculture would be difficult to do at the purity and scale that their process provides.
