Evonik has been awarded a platinum rating again for its sustainability performance by the EcoVadis rating agency. This puts Evonik among the top 1 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis, both in the chemical industry and in all other sectors.

The renewed award of a platinum rating by EcoVadis confirms our sustainability strategy,” says Thomas Wessel, executive board member responsible for sustainability.
“We are driving forward sustainability along the value chain in close dialogue with our stakeholders. In addition to our own production and business processes, we pay special attention to the supply chain, especially product benefits and applications on the customer side.”
The EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment looks at companies’ sustainability performance in the dimensions of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment also incorporates information from more than 2,500 publicly available sources.
Evonik is a founding member of the chemical industry's Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative and is assessed annually by EcoVadis, which carries out the assessments as a partner of the initiative. The aim of the TfS initiative is to increase the transparency and sustainability of global supply chains through uniform supplier audits and assessments and additional training.
