Squalane is one of the best ingredients in the world of cosmetics and has recently risen to fame. It hydrates and heals the skin and hair - replenishing all that the surface lacks. What is SQUALANE used for?

Squalane is a magic ingredient and has become a favorite worldwide because of the various benefits it provides. It can be found in cleansers, masks, anti aging creams, hair conditioners, eye shadows, etc.
  • Skin care: It is responsible for deeply hydrating the skin and locking in moisture by forming a protective barrier. It makes the skin more vibrant and healthier over time by replenishing and healing the surface
  • Hair care: It is also widely used in hair care products because of its conditioning properties. It protects the shafts from damage and prevents hair loss. Squalane leaves the hair shinier and deeply moisturized
  • Cosmetic products: It is lightweight and does not make the cosmetic products greasy or feel heavy on the skin. Squalane imparts hydrating and anti-aging properties to the formulations

Origin

Squalane can be derived from multiple sources. Previously this ingredient was derived from animals and came largely from the liver of sharks. However, today plant derived Squalane is available and preferred. It largely comes from the sugarcane fermentation in Brazil.
