What is GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE used for?

Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is a multi-functional ingredient and serves many benefits in the world of cosmetics and personal care. It can mainly be found in products such as cleansers, moisturizers, mascaras and foundations.

Skin care: It is added to skin care products because it has the ability to deeply moisturize the skin and leave it smoother and healthier. It can also mix well with the dirt particles present on the surface to gently wash them away. It also makes cosmetic products more hydrating and prevents them from drying out. Moreover, it is a great emulsifier that prevents oil and water from separating in the cosmetic formulation.

Origin

Glyceryl Stearate is made by reacting stearic acid and glycerin. Whereas, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate has an added citric acid molecule. This waxy ingredient is white to pale yellow in color in its raw form.
