What is CI 47005 used for?

CI 47005 is used as a cosmetic colorant. It is used in non-oxidative hair dyeing products at a maximum concentration of 0.5%. It is intended for once-monthly use with a typical application of 100 ml. It is also found in shampoos, face, and lip products.

Origin

CI 47005 is manufactured by condensing quinaldine with phthalic anhydride to give the unsulfonated dye, which is then sulfonated with oleum. It can also be made by sulfonating 2-(2-quinolyl)indane-1,3-dione or a mixture containing about two-thirds 2-(2-quinolyl)indane-1,3-dione and one third 2-(2-(6- methylquinolyl))indane-1,3-dione.

Skin Care: Ultra Mild Economical Kiwi Facial Wash

This facial cleanser with refreshing kiwi extract has very low surfactant content without forfeiting formula thickness. Carbopol® Aqua SF-1 Polymer provides good suspension to exfoliating jojoba ester beads that will help nourish skin. Novethix™ L-10 Polymer effectively thickens the mild cleansing system. Glucam™ E-20 Humectant gently moisturizes skin, leaving a pleasant afterfeel.
