Sheatree, Butyrospermum parkii, also known as Vitellaria paradoxa, is the source of Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter. When raw, it is ivory in colour and is frequently coloured yellow with palm oil or borutu root. It is used in numerous cosmetic and personal care products, such as bath and cleaning products, eye makeup, lotions and creams, suntan products, lipstick, and hair care products, where it functions as emollients and viscosity controllers.

Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter is a natural moisturizer that's widely used in cosmetics, bath products, makeup, lotion, and hair care products. It also works as a viscosity-increasing agent. It can be used at concentrations from 1-100%.
  • Skin care: It has a rich texture and is also a rich source of antioxidants, including quercetin, epicatechin gallate, gallocatechin, and epigallocatechin, as well as skin-replenishing fatty acids (stearic and linoleic). It is used as an emollient in cosmetics and has smoothing properties for dry skin
  • Hair care: In addition to its smoothing capabilities, it is ideal for dry, irritated scalps, due to its hydrating capabilities
