Ammonium Laureth Sulfate is primarily a surfactant widely used in the cosmetic industry. Origin

Ammonium laureth sulfate is typically synthesized through a process known as sulfation. First, ethylene oxide is reacted with ammonia to produce ammonium ethoxylate. Then, this compound undergoes sulfation by treatment with sulfur trioxide or sulfuric acid, resulting in the formation of ammonium laureth sulfate.
