The Brazilian Cosmetics Market

Brazil has become one of the most valuable cosmetics and personal care markets in the world. Being the largest market in Latin America and one of the top five cosmetics & personal care markets in the world, Brazil offers immense investment opportunities for companies around the world. Brazil is the largest, most populous and most industrialized country in Latin America. With rising cosmetic consumption, coupled with increasing income level, demand of cosmetics & personal care products will further boost the Brazilian economy. There are around 1,200 companies operating in the cosmetics market in Brazil. Fifteen of these are large companies, with net sales over US$60 million per year, representing almost 75% of total sales. Unilever, L'Oréal, Johnson & Johnson, Avon, Natura, Davene, L'Acqua di Fiori, Agua de Cheiro, Farmaervas and O Boticario are the main players in the Brazilian cosmetics market. The US, France and Italy are the main foreign imports. Imported products are usually directed toward high-end consumers.
