How deep should we be going with cosmeceuticals actives?

The votes are in and have been counted and ninety percent of readers are embracing the skin from within in a push to get better and better results from their products. Cosmaceutical actives are set to play a big part in the up-coming In-Cosmetics Asia exhibition in November where many of you will be seeking out the newest and most efficacious ingredients to add to your wonder creams. So what are people looking for? As you all know, this is one market segment that is on the move and as such there is little in the way of set criteria for an ingredient to reach in order for it to be marketed as a cosmaceutical. So, it is of no great surprise that nearly a quarter of you would be evaluating these ‘innovations’ on a case by case basis to see if the data and in-vivo results match your clients marketing and efficacy requirements and this is no small task. With each ingredient manufacturer coming up with their own ways of proving their ingredients worth our cosmetic chemists have got a lot of reading to do...
