In 2007, research on existing Cosmetics Regulations in Asia was performed and an article on the
results was published in two parts: Survey of Countries and Specifics of Existing Regulations . The actual
article is considered forming a part of an update series of older publications and covers the biggest
economies of East & South Asia. A preceding part to the Asia updates is from May 2009 and addresses the
ASEAN Cosmetic Directive. Key approach for the updates was the investigation of the status of
implementations of the existing regulatory frameworks and of amendments made thereto since 2007.
Additionally, actual points of discussion are summarized, especially where international harmonization issues
