The Annual SCC Scientific Seminar always brings top science to the industry and its creative talent. This year's meeting was no different. This is a brief overview of the various topics presented at this year's mid-year seminar. There were five major sessions at this conference which was held in Chicago, Illinois, at the Chicago Hilton Hotel on Thursday and Friday, June 4th and 5th. They were Anti-Aging, Analytical Methodology, Formulation, New Methods in the area of Hair, and Multicultural Nair Care. On Monday morning a Keynote Address was given by Gail Vance Civille on the importance of sensory perception in cosmetic products. There was also the annual Poster session from universities around the country. Here, graduate students from The University of Cincinnati (unfortunately the University of Florida’s students were unable to attend at the last minute) presented the latest science and innovation from the work they are currently doing and working towards their advanced degrees in cosmetic science and competed for first to fourth place awards...
