2-Ethylhexyl Ferulate. Only IOF acts as an antioxidant and sunscreen agent. It absorbs ultraviolet rays and prevents oxidation. Also inhibits tyrosinase activity and the formation of melanin. Only IOF has high sun protection factor. Can effectively isolate the 280-360nm band of ultraviolet radiation. Used in skin care and sun care formulations.
