Caesalpinia Sappan Bark Extract. Sappanwood Extract-NS by The Garden of Naturalsolution acts as an anti-acne, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-photoaging and skin brightening agent. It is an extract from the bark of sappan wood, caesalpinia sappan. It contains brazilin, brazilein and sappanchalcone as active compounds. Brazilin offers anti-acne effect by showing anti-microbial activity against P. acnes. Moreover, brazilin exhibits anti-photoaging activity by inhibiting UVB-induced expression of MMP's and blocking ROS & NF-kB signaling pathway.
