It acts as an emulsifier and dispersant and is a copolymer of polydimethylsiloxane and polyethylene/polypropylene-oxide that may offer solubility in water and lower alcohols and further provide light conditioning in shampoos, formation of small sized bubbles, richness in foam, flexible hold and rinse ability in hair. Its potential use is in shampoos and hair care products.
