PEG-12 Dimethicone. Silsoft* 880 by Momentive Performance Materials is the copolymer of polydimethylsiloxane and polyethylene/polypropylene-oxide. Has emulsifying and dispersive activity. Acts as a conditioning agent. It may offer solubility in water and lower alcohols. Silsoft* 880 provides light conditioning in shampoos, formation of small sized bubbles, richness in foam, flexible hold and rinse ability in hair. Its potential applications are in shampoos, conditioners, leave-on hair products, skin care lotions, creams and body washes.
