HALLSTAR® EGMS

Glycol Stearate. HALLSTAR® EGMS by Hallstar is a biodegradable bodying-, co-emulsifying- & pearlizing agent, emollient and thickener (non-aqueous). It is the esterification product of triple pressed-grade stearic acid and ethylene glycol. It is a mixture of about equal proportions of mono- and di- ester. Its effectiveness as an opacifier and pearlizing agent is due to its near insolubility in aqueous systems. It contributes body, opacity and a soft velvety feel when utilized at a level of 1-2% on cream & lotion. This ingredient imparts additional body, bringing the product towards a stiff paste consistency when added at higher levels (up to 10%). HALLSTAR® EGMS is used in bath additives, facial cleansers, facial color cosmetics, facial skin care, foot care, hair colorants, hand & body care, liquid hand soaps, nail care, shampoos, shaving products, shower gels/body washes and styling aids.
