Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil. Wheatgerm oil by Gustav Heess acts as an emollient and conditioning agent. It is obtained by pressing wheat corn germs (triticum vulgare L.). The refined grade has a yellowish color and gives off a faint, typical smell. It contains palmitic-, oleic-, linoleic- and linolenic acid. Moreover, it contains high levels of tocopherol (vitamin E). Wheatgerm oil finds application in formulating ointment base, skin care and hair care products.
