Prunus Persica Kernel Oil. Peach kernel oil by Gustav Heess acts as an emollient and conditioning agent. It is obtained through mechanical pressing of peach kernels (persica vulgaris). It is highly unsaturated and consists of palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids. It turns rancid quickly and its refined product is pale to mid-yellow in color, with a mild taste & faint, characteristic aroma. Peach kernel oil finds application in formulating skin care cosmetics (soaps, ointments, creams) and hair care products (shampoos).
