Oregano Leaf CO2-to extract Phenol Type

Origanum Vulgare (Oregano) Leaf Extract. Acts as an anti-oxidant and anti-microbial active. It is derived from oregano leaves and contains no reproducible microorganisms. The extract contains 45-55% essential oil containing the phenols carvacrol (28-38% absolute in extract) and small amounts of thymol with known antiseptic properties and other compounds, e.g. thymoquinone, cymene and caryophyllene. It is analgetic and anti-inflammatory by COX-1 and COX-2 inhibition. Used in cosmetics products.
