Caprylyl Methicone. MIRASIL™ CAPRYLYL TSO by Elkem Silicones is an easily volatile, emollient and surface active in many organic media. It is an alkyl modified polysiloxane of low viscosity with an octyl pendant group. It is compatible with cosmetic oils, silicones and waxes. It reduces the rub-on time of creams and lotions and provides a silky afterfeel. It improves spreading of non-polar liquids. This ingredient improves shine & color of pigment-based formulations. It reduces the tackiness of glycerin and vegetable oils and improves drying time. It also offers improved sensory and light feel with a balanced absorption and drying. MIRASIL™ CAPRYLYL TSO is used in skin & body lotions/creams, foundations, concealers, color cosmetics (e.g. lipsticks), antiperspirant/deodorant, hair care (e.g. leave-on treatments) and sun protection creams. The shelf life of this ingredient is 24 months from its date of manufacturing.

This product is no longer available and is replaced by PURESIL™ CAPRYLYL TSO E6.
