Maltodextrin (and) Cistus Monspeliensis Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract. Ciste’M® by BASF functions as an antioxidant, anti-pollution, anti-wrinkle, inflammation reduction, matrix protection, photo-aging protection and resurfacing agent. It is an extract of rockrose adapted to arid climate, protects the DNA of skin cells from the effects of UVB exposure and prevents the deleterious effects of blue light. It maintains skin integrity and function as it stimulates the release of ECM1 protein, implicated in skin physiology. It reduces lipid peroxidation due to UVA and air pollution, UV-B induced DNA damage & repair and UV-B induced release of inflammation mediators. It is a preservative-free ingredient and offers free radical scavenging on hair and accelerates skin renewal. Ciste’M® is used in after-sun, sun protection and face care products.
