It is a nonionic water-soluble polymer that contains both hydroxyethyl and long-chain alkyl groups. It is known to associate with the hydrophobic groups of surfactants and other formulation ingredients. PolySurf™ 67 cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose is used in cosmetics and toiletries. It imparts high salt tolerance and long-term stability over a very wide pH range (3.5-11).
