Ashland Specialty Chemical
Carbomer. Ashland™ 941 carbomer by Ashland Specialty Chemical emulsifying, conditioning, foaming, gelling, rheology modifier and suspension agent. It is a cross-linked polymer of acrylic acid. It is anionic in nature and acidic in its unneutralized state and have to be neutralized with an appropriate base to achieve their thickening ability. It exhibits pseudoplastic rheological behavior. It aids spreadability on skin of oil-in-water emulsions. Ashland™ 941 carbomer is suggested for use in styling gels, conditioning shampoos, oil-in-water emulsions, hand sanitizers and body washes.
