BANGKOK, Thailand -- BASF will showcase its newly launched ingredients in sun care applications at in-cosmetics Asia 2014. Various formulations will be shown to demonstrate the benefits of each product.

Tinosorb® A2B: A unique absorbance spectrum helps to increase SPF without unblancing the absorbance in UVA

Tinosorb® A2B - is an innovative organic aqueous dispersion of a micro-particulate broad-spectrum UV filter with UVB and UVAII coverage. Due to its superior UV absorption capabilities, it is one of the most innovative UV filters available on the market and provides high UV protection in the UVAII range. It is added to the water phase of cosmetic formulations contributing to the aqua light feel sunscreen consumers need. Its superior broad absorption capabilities and the scattering effect of particles gives significant SPF boosting effect, also the spectra is lifted in the UVA area resulting in a balance absorbance of both UVA and UVB. It can be used in skin care, sun care and body care.

Uvinul® Easy: Easy-handling UV filter premix to achieve the SPF of a sunscreen and provide broad spectrum protection

Easy-handling UV filter premix, as aqueous solutions, can be used to increase the SPF of sunscreens while maintaining sufficient UVA protection and fulfilling European UVA ratio. The easiest way to make a sunscreen we can imagine even with cold process would be by using a sunscreen concentrate that turns into a sunscreen by just adding water and thickener. BASF has indeed developed such a concentrate, called Uvinul® Easy. Any sunscreen between SPF6 and SPF50 can be readily manufactured.

For reference usage about Tinosorb® A2B and Uvinul® Easy, visit in-cosmetics Asia 2014 at booth K10, Hall 101-103, BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand, from November 4 to 6, 2014.
