Hand_Sanitizer_IntroDue to the steep escalation of COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, cosmetics industry is working at its best to handle the shortage of hand sanitizers.

Most of the companies have increased the production of necessary raw materials, such as hydroalcoholic gels for hand sanitizers to support frontline workers, medical staff who are most exposed to the virus.

There is an upsurge in demand of alcoholic gels for hand sanitizers and disinfectants. The industry is working at the forefront to fulfill the demand and supply gap, by developing new ingredients and donating sanitizers and disinfectants.

Let’s check out the comprehensive round up of how the industry is tackling this crisis.

Combating Shortage of Hand Sanitizers

Health Canada Expedites Licensing Approach for Production

Health Canada has simplified and expedited licensing approach for the production and distribution of alcohol-based hand sanitizers to support companies that intend to manufacture and import hand sanitizers.

All approved alcohol-based hand sanitizers must meet the necessary requirements under the Natural Health Products Regulations (NHPR). A site license is required to manufacture NHP hand sanitizers in Canada and product license is required to legally distribute or donate the products.

To facilitate the safe and efficient production of NHP hand sanitizers, the organization has simplified and expedited the application and review processes for both site and product licenses.
